Psychologist for Outpatient Care for Children and Adolescents

The Child and Adolescent Section at the Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders is growing, and the outpatient unit for children and adolescents needs to expand its staff.

We are now looking for a psychologist who is interested in working with eating disorder treatment for children and adolescents and their families!

The Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the largest specialist clinics in the world for patients with eating disorders and accepts patients of all ages. We have a well-developed operation with outpatient care, day care, and inpatient care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today, we have over 280 employees. At the beginning of 2026, we will open another outpatient clinic for children and adolescents with eating disorders in Södermalm, Stockholm.

The outpatient clinic for children and adolescents provides specialized eating disorder care for patients under 18 years old. Currently, there is a unit for children and adolescents with about 15 employees, and another outpatient unit for children and adolescents will be established in the spring.

We have nurses, psychologists, psychotherapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and doctors working with us. Our primary treatment focus is family-based therapy (FBT). We have supervision from James Lock, who developed the method.

The expanded mandate that SCÄ has received means that the child and adolescent section is growing, and the outpatient unit for children and adolescents needs to expand its staff. We are looking forward to welcoming additional colleagues to our wonderful team.

Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for someone who wants a stimulating job and wants to develop both the organization and themselves. Your main job responsibilities will be to conduct family-based treatment. Job tasks also include diagnostic assessments and follow-up in the clinic's quality assurance work. You will participate in treatment conferences, supervision, and method development together with the rest of the team.

Employment Type:

Permanent employment. Full-time, 40 hours/week or as agreed.

Qualifications:

You are a licensed psychologist. If you have family therapy training and experience working therapeutically with families, this is considered an asset, as well as experience assessing and treating patients with eating disorders.

Personal Qualities:

You have good collaboration skills, take personal responsibility, and enjoy working in a team. You are confident in meeting people in difficult life situations and meeting entire families. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements guide non-licensed staff with patient contact.
